Why acrylic quilting templates? For many generations quilters have used templates to help them with their work. In the old "quilt talk" people spoke of using quilt patterns to help them create the blocks for their quilts. There were many popular and classic quilt patterns that all quilters tried to copy. Quilters in the past who used quilting patterns made their own. What they made was actually a type of quilt template. Quilt patterns are simply quilt templates and quilt templates are quilt patterns.

Quilt patterns or templates have been made from many different materials over the years. Quilters have used paper, cardboard, plastic and metal to create the patterns or templates they needed for their quilting. Unfortunately most of these were only good for one time usage as they frayed, ripped and simply deteriorated.

The patterns or templates made from plastic and metal were a little better, but cutting out the shapes was difficult and frustrating especially if the plastics or metals were too brittle, too hard or too thick.

Those with any quilting experience know how much time and effort can be consumed, and how much patience and endurance is required, to create a quilting template made from any of these materials. Hours of cutting out all the pieces with scissors and putting everything together can be quite a chore.

In today's modern quilting environment we have the acrylic quilting templates. These modern templates are translucent, easy to use and reusable - a great addition to any quilter's sewing room. Acrylic templates will last indefinitely and can be used over and over without any loss of accuracy when cutting.

Acrylic templates are manufactured in many different shapes and sizes and can open up a whole new vista of quilting choices for both the novice and experienced quilter. Using a rotary-cutter shapes can be rapidly and accurately cut from any fabric. Several pieces can even be cut at one time simply by stacking the fabric. Acrylic templates will definitely save time and make for a more enjoyable and satisfying quilting experience.

Whether wanting to work with basic shapes or fancy circles and curves, or choosing between popular or traditional quilt patterns or popular and classic quilt block designs, many choices are available with acrylic quilting templates.

Whether a novice quilter trying to master the "art" of quilting, or an experienced quilter wanting to find new challenging and more difficult projects, acrylic quilting templates can bring a myriad of new ideas and inspirations.
